Warehouse manager

We are recruiting a warehouse manager for a major company specialising in cold storage, processing and sale of fresh and frozen seafood, based in the Valencia city area.

Main duties

• Controlling and improving logistics flows (goods in, put-away, picking, dispatch) following the company's internal procedures and food regulations, improving times and reducing errors.
• Safe, efficient use of trilateral and reach trucks to organise and move goods.
• Checking the condition of products, labelling and order picking, meeting hygiene and preservation requirements for frozen and chilled products.
• Following health and safety rules and using the required protective equipment, especially for the regular work in cold rooms (-4 °C).
• Daily planning of the warehouse team's tasks and allocation of responsibilities.
• Coordinating and directly supervising a small team.
• Initial training of new operatives in internal procedures, good practice and use of machinery.
• Working with the purchasing, production and quality departments to coordinate logistics needs.
• Monitoring basic KPIs: stock rotation, service level, incidents, losses and team productivity.
• Using the computer and logistics software such as Appia, or similar, to manage stock, inventories, batches and traceability.
• Handling operational incidents: breakages, picking errors, returns, stock shortages and coordination of corrective action.

Requirements

• At least 3 years' previous experience as a logistics or warehouse supervisor in industrial settings, especially in the food sector, or similar.
• Experience with trilateral and reach trucks is essential, with a valid certificate.
• Able to work in cold conditions (warm clothing needed).
• A driving licence and your own vehicle to get to the workplace.
• Able to work in a team, reliable and rigorous in following protocols.
